Last week, the Center for Innovation of Future Education at Seoul National University invited Prof. Cher Ping Lim, co-director of the Global Institute for Emerging Technologies at The Education University of Hong Kong, to deliver the third session of the Learning Innovations and Emerging Technologies Masterclass Series titled "Use of Emerging Technologies for Teacher Professional Development."
This Masterclass draws on global case studies from the TPD@Scale Coalition, which focuses on building teacher capacity in equitable, efficient, and quality ways by leveraging technology use. These localised practices, in synergy with rich academic portfolios and active intercultural validations, have delivered an evidence-based framework for strengthening teacher professional development (TPD) systems with ICT. In addition to the TPD@Scale work, Prof. Lim also introduced some of his key works in the GenAI competency framework for university teachers in collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Prof. Lim also presented at the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) on 28 May 2025, discussing the current status of developing Teacher Professional Development (TPD) at scale inclusively and equitably. We look forward to continuous collaborations with Seoul National University and KERIS!
